Fondly known as the Tampa Bucs, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been the sweetheart of the NFC Southern division ever since the XXXVII game. With Raheem Morris and Joe Baker at the helm, the team has had a great many successes. One Buc Place was pretty discerning with its few free agent signings and drafts this time:

* Josh Freeman, a big hit at Kansas State "back in the day", has proved to be a virtually indispensable asset to the team-so far. He joins QB's Rudy Carpenter, Jevan Snead and Josh Johnson.

* John Alston and Sean Jones, along with the Eagle's receiver Reggie Brown, make up the only free agents for the 2010 season. Speculation as to why more free agents were not chosen pointed to the recent fluctuations in owners' checkbooks; however, that is not stopping the Bucs from entering this season with nothing but victory in mind.

* In contrast with their free-agents slim-pickings, the 2010 third draft has produced a great range of talent. Gerald McCoy, the Oklahoma defense tackle, joins the ranks of One Buc Place-as do UCLA defensive Brian Price and Roy Miller.

This new defensive talent basically spelt the end for long-time Chris Hovan-who will now call the defense tackle/inner line of the St.Louis Rams home. Other ex-Bucs include Sears, Woodson, Askew and Shawn Murphy.

Myron Lewis, a Vanderbilt cornerback heavyweight, joins also joins the Buc's ranks. Lewis will complement the existing Aqib Talib very well. Dekoda Watson, Cody Grimm (of the legendary Russ Grim of the Redskins) and Stanford's defensive-end Eric Lori join the Buccaneer's special teams.

The upcoming 2010 pre-season at the beautiful Sun Life Stadium has most fans ecstatic about the future of the team. While there is still some dissent among the ranks; however, for the most part and with the full-support of Coach Morris--Freeman, McCoy, Price and Brent Bowden are very welcome faces to the Bucs. Accompanying them will also be Illinois great Arrelious Been and Syracuse's Mike Williams as wide receivers.
